A redesign is appropriate when the website structure no longer matches your services, the visual presentation feels disconnected from the current brand, mobile visitors struggle to use the site or routine editing has become unnecessarily difficult. It is also useful when valuable content and search history should be retained but the overall experience needs a considered rebuild.
A full redesign is not always the right answer. If the current website is fundamentally suitable but has defined technical, responsive or layout problems, WordPress website fixes may be enough. If you do not yet have a website, start with business website development. A campaign that needs only one focused destination may be better served by a WordPress landing page.

Before work begins, I provide a written scope covering the agreed pages, responsibilities, revision rounds, migration requirements, timeline and launch checks. A short diagnostic review may be recommended first when the current setup cannot be assessed reliably from the front end.
The project price covers the agreed redesign and development scope. Hosting changes, premium licences, paid third-party tools, copywriting, branding, photography, video production, advanced SEO work, complex integrations and work outside the written scope are separate.

Every redesign is scoped around the condition of the existing site, but the work normally covers the core areas needed to replace it safely and improve how it serves the business.

I review the current pages, navigation, content, forms and technical setup so useful material can be retained and avoidable problems are not carried into the rebuild.

I reorganise the agreed pages and rebuild them in WordPress and Elementor around the current services, brand direction and approved content.
Responsive and Functional Testing
I test the redesigned templates, navigation, forms and key interactions across common screen sizes before the replacement site is approved for launch.
Migration and Search Safeguards
I retain existing URLs where practical, map approved URL changes, preserve editable metadata and check redirects, indexing settings and key tracking connections during launch preparation.
A controlled route from the existing site to the redesigned version
Most straightforward redesigns take approximately three to six weeks once access, approved content and consolidated feedback are available. Larger sites, content restructuring, complex integrations and delayed decisions require a longer schedule.
Review and define the scope
I review the existing website, confirm the business goals and agree what will be kept, rewritten, reorganised or removed. The written scope records the pages, responsibilities, migration needs and launch requirements.
Prepare content and migration decisions
You provide the approved copy, current branding, suitable images and required access. I organise the supplied material within the agreed structure and confirm URL or functionality changes before development begins.
Rebuild, review and test
I build the replacement website in a staging or development environment, share progress at agreed points and complete the agreed revisions, responsive testing and functional checks before launch.
Replace the live site and monitor
After approval and a suitable backup, I replace the live site, complete the agreed launch checks and provide handover guidance. If you prefer updates, backups and monitoring to be handled for you, you can continue with an optional WordPress website care plan.

How do I know whether the website needs a redesign or defined fixes?
A redesign makes sense when the structure, visual system and several pages need to change together. If the current site still represents the business and the problems are isolated to a form, template, responsive layout or technical issue, the WordPress Website Fixes service is usually the better starting point.
Will a redesign affect the website's Google rankings?
Any substantial website change can affect search performance. I retain useful URLs where practical, map approved URL changes, preserve relevant on-page information and check redirects and indexing settings, but rankings cannot be guaranteed and may fluctuate while search engines reassess the site.
Can the website remain live while the redesign is being built?
Usually, yes. I normally build the replacement in a staging or development environment so the existing website can remain available until the new version has been reviewed and approved. The exact launch method depends on the hosting setup and condition of the current site.
Do you keep the existing content?
Useful and accurate content can be retained, reorganised and placed into the new structure. You approve the final website copy and provide missing or rewritten material unless copywriting is included separately in the scope.
Can you redesign a WordPress website built by someone else?
Yes, provided I can access and reasonably work with the hosting, WordPress setup and required licences. I review the existing environment first and will explain if a clean rebuild, hosting change or separate technical work is necessary.
What do I need to provide?
You provide WordPress and hosting access, approved copy, current brand assets, suitable images, required account access and consolidated feedback from one decision-maker. Third-party costs and services outside the written scope remain separate.
